Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez raises security concerns after Marjorie Taylor Greene confrontation

Marjorie Taylor Greene caused a scene in Congress on Wednesday, per The Washington Post.

Per the report, AOC mostly ignored Greene.

This is not a new move for Greene, although one would hope that she wouldn't still be pulling stunts like this after having been elected to Congress.

It came as she and Ocasio-Cortez left the House chamber on Wednesday, The Post reported, citing two of its reporters who were there. "That's fine Sandy. Since you lack the courage & intelligence to debate me, I'll debate the person who really wrote it".

Anyway, the confrontation was actually pretty one-sided with MTG challenging AOC to a debate on global warming and accusing her of supporting "terrorists".

Greene tried to catch up to the NY representative, asking why she supports antifa and Black Lives Matter, describing them as "terrorist" groups.

Greene shouted at Ocasio-Cortez that she was failing to defend her "radical socialist" beliefs by declining to publicly debate her. Ocasio-Cortez did not stop to respond to Greene and only turned around once and threw her hands in the air.

Greene has a record of spreading conspiracy theories and Democrats voted to strip her of committee assignments.

Ocasio-Cortez, a progressive with similar star power, has become a favorite target. In February, she posted an anti-transgender sign outside her office, which sits across from Rep. Marie Newman (D-Illinois), whose daughter is transgender.

The Squad is a nickname that Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) gave themselves after bonding at their freshman orientation in 2018.

Ocasio-Cortez has not defended Hamas militant actions, tweeting on Wednesday that they are "condemnable".

Greene issued a swift response to Pelosi's comments, arguing that the House Speaker should instead call for the Ethics Committee to "look into" Ocasio-Cortez "for putting Trump admin staff and supporters on lists to destroy their lives and prevent future employment".

'Representative Greene tried to begin an argument with Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez and when Rep. Ocasio-Cortez tried to walk away, Congresswoman Greene began screaming and called Rep. Ocasio-Cortez a terrorist sympathizer, ' Ocasio-Cortez spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said in a statement given to the newspaper.
