The update confirmed that Twitter had been the victim of a social engineering attack, putting paid to rumors that the hack could have been an inside job . Twitter locked down affected accounts and removed the fraudulent tweets. The incident involved an assault amphibious vehicle , according to the 1 Marine Expeditionary Force. Search and rescue efforts, supported by the Navy and Coast Guard, are underway for the missing service members, it said.
