Arjun Tendulkar debuts in Mumbai senior team

Tendulkar junior makes domestic debut for Mumbai

Unlike his father Sachin Tendulkar, who was a right-handed batsman and also bowled medium-pace and spin from his right hand, he is a left-arm seam bowler and a left-handed batsman. Batting first Uttar Pradesh managed to set the total of 124 for five in their allotted twenty overs.

Arjun Tendulkar, the son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, on Friday made his debut in the domestic Twenty20 (T20) championship Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for the senior Mumbai team.

Mumbai went down to Haryana in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament. After making his debut for the Mumbai team, now Arjun becomes eligible for IPL auctions.

Nearly 32 years after he made his debut for Mumbai at just 15 against Gujarat at the Wankhede Stadium, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar's son, left-arm pacer Arjun Tendulkar won his first cap for Mumbai.

Mumbai all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar grabbed the limelight with his first wicket in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The 26-year-old smashed a century off just 37 deliveries, as his unbeaten knock of 137 allowed Kerala to win by eight wickets, in what was the side's first win in its opening game of the tournament. Bairstow had to limp out of the session.

In the last few years, Arjun, starting from the under-14 level, has played for Mumbai in all age-group teams, and even played for the Mumbai senior team in invitational tournaments.
