The United States vs. Billie Holiday debuts via Hulu on February 26.

Hulu announced today that the streaming platform has acquired the USA rights to Lee Daniels' THE UNITED STATES vs. BILLIE HOLIDAY, which will debut as a Hulu Original film on Hulu on February 26, 2021.

The primary trailer for Paramount's "The United States vs. Billie Holiday" explores the tragic story of singer Billie Holiday, the racial inequalities of Forties America and her encounters with the Federal Bureau of Narcotics. Billie Holiday also stars Trevante Rhodes, Natasha Lyonne, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, and Garrett Hedlund, and the film is the first from Lee Daniels since his Academy Award-nominated 2013 film The Butler. "Hulu releasing this film and giving it a platform to be seen nationwide is a blessing, because as recent events reveal, our country has much work to do in fulfilling its promise of a more flawless union", said Lee Daniels.

We have some powerful dialogues from the trailer.

"Don't you know who this is?" I didn't know that she kicked off the Civil Rights movement. Really why you do the things you do? It's the quote that defined Spider-Man, but one that sadly very few adhere to in real life as most people in a position of power or fame use it as an opportunity to just keep exploiting those around them. "When you think of Billie Holiday, you think of this brilliant tortured jazz singer that happened to have been a drug addict".

Lee said of casting Andra in the role, which is her first on-screen role ever, that many wanted him to cast Andra, but he says, "I don't like being pressured into anything".
