WWE had also hyped this show as being a tribute to the former WWE Champion and touted it as "capping off The Phonem's legendary 30-year career".

Soon after the announcement, #ThankYouTaker started trending on Twitter, as many people shared tweets of gratitude towards the wrestler for being a great entertainer in the WWE circuit while others highlighted specific memories and matches in recognition of all of the souls that The Undertaker has laid to rest in the ring over the past three decades.

The full guest list included Shane McMahon, Big Show, John Layfield, Jeff Hardy, Mick Foley, The Godfather, Henry and Phineas Godwin, Savio Vega, Rikishi, Kevin Nash, Booker T, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Triple H and of course the Undertaker's storyline brother, Kane, who was the only guest to appear in full ring gear.

A special video package aired.

Once the stage was set for Taker, the Deadman kept his retirement speech short. He even name-dropped WWF. "Tonight we say goodbye". He brought out Taker. As the Bearer hologram held up his iconic urn, The Undertaker performed his signature kneel and slowly walked back up the entrance ramp to end Survivor Series 2020.

The sports entertainment star, real name Mark Calaway, has been a leading draw for Vince McMahon's wrestling promotion since debuting at Survivor Series event in 1990.

The Undertaker beat AJ Styles in a Boneyard Match, which served as the headliner of WrestleMania 36 - Night 1, in what was Taker's most recent match. He has since confirmed in various interviews that he's retired.
