Apple surprised analysts on Tuesday evening with the roll-out of its new iPhone 12, especially as regards pricing, which analysts said could entice more consumers to upgrade their terminals.

Pre-orders for iPhone 12 begin from October 16 and availability from October 23 globally. iPhone 12 mini will be available for pre-order beginning November 6 and in stores beginning November 13.

iPhone 12 models also feature Smart Data mode, which extends battery life by intelligently assessing 5G needs and balancing data usage, speed, and power in real-time.

Late last month, there were reports of the new iPhone coming in two new colour schemes.

Apple's new, A14 Bionic processor, along with iOS 14, are the two features of the iPhone 12 series that are certain. In terms of cameras, the overall configuration is expected to remain similar to what the iPhone 11 range brought to the table. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini come in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB internal storage variants, and the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max come in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB internal storage variants.

Apple's iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max features a new lidar sensor on the back - a technology first introduced on the iPad Pro in March. The iPhone 12 launch will be limited to an online-only event. Now, it is being said that Apple may do the same with iPhone 12.
