A man has been filmed wrestling his dog from the jaws of an alligator.
A Florida man came to the rescue when he rushed to save his puppy from the jaws of an alligator, according to a video.
An Estero man is captured on camera saving his dog from an alligator in October.
And Wilbanks said he and his family have gained a new appreciation for the wildlife around them. It's part of a campaign called "Sharing the Landscape", aiming to help people appreciate and understand the wildlife they live near.
Budd said "the homeowners took their dog to the vet and the man was also checked out and all parties involved are healthy and OK".
Richard Wilbanks, 74, of Estero ran into his backyard pond, wrestled the gator above surface, and pried its jaws open to free Gunner, his Cavalier King Charles spaniel.
"I never thought an alligator could be that fast". He also said he was fine, but his hands had been hurt and he received a tetanus shot. "We don't just want to tolerate wildlife, but, rather, we want to thrive with wildlife on a shared landscape".
The love that we have for our pets is just unbelievable and there is nothing that would match that type of love, ever. He is keeping a close eye on Gunner by keeping him on a leash and away from the water.
