Miley Cyrus presented a hard cover for Cranberries' song "Zombie" while on her hiring of three songs from the popular Whiskey A Go-Go in Los Angeles as part of Save Our Stages (#SOSFest), the three-day National Independent Venue Association Festival Virtual utility to support independent music venues that are at risk of permanently shutting down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Suffice to say, Cyrus' covers are legendary, and are a defining staple in her successful, decade-long career. People on Twitter also can't get enough. She said that the album, which follows a season's serialised'She's Coming' EP launch,"will soon be reflective of that I am".
Naturally, the hype around MTV Unplugged Presents Miley Cyrus Backyard Sessions - which promised "some select covers", including Britney Spears' "Gimme More", as well as songs from Pearl Jam, The Cardigans and more - was pretty intense.
Other Save Our Stages Fest shows have included Brittany Howard, Foo Fighters, G-Eazy, Rise Against, and The Roots.
"Holy shiiiiiiit rock n roll queen", the actress commented on the post.
Cyrus' makeup artist, Janice Daoud, also commented on the star's Instagram post with a simple, "Incredible".
Outside of her #SOSFest performance, the "Mother's Daughter" singer has been providing wonderful covers as part of her Backyard Sessions series rebooted on MTV Unplugged. On Friday, October 16th, Cyrus and her younger sister Noah Cyrus made a rare joint show. The end of it all.
The only thing that has kept me sane these past few months has been Miley Cyrus and her series of excellent covers. For the Global Goal: Unite for Our Future event. We hope Cyrus also ditches her "Zombie" cover and continues to produce these awesome covers.
Chrissy Teigen reacted to Cyrus' rendition of the classic Beatles song in September, tweeting, "Sounding like a weed smoking dolly angel". Her voice is so different from anyone out there now.
