Zachery Ty Bryan, the actor who played the oldest son on the long-running 1990s sit-com Home Improvement, has been arrested in the U.S. and faces charges of strangulation and assault.
Police in Eugene, Ore., went to Bryan's residence Friday evening following a report from a neighbor of a "physical dispute".

Cops said an investigation indicated that Bryan had taken the victim's phone as she attempted to call 911. They arrested Bryan at the scene and he has been charged with strangulation, fourth-degree assault, and interfering with making a report. Bryan, 39, was sitting outside his apartment when police arrived; his girlfriend was at a neighboring apartment and declined medical assistance. Bryan has acted intermittently since then, including a role in 2006's "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift".
