Prince Andrew 'lobbied USA government' on behalf of paedophile Epstein

Audrey Strauss acting United States attorney for the Southern District of New York gestures as she speaks during a news conference to announce charges against Ghislaine Maxwell

Jeffrey Epstein told Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015 she'd done "nothing wrong," unsealed documents show

Maxwell denied the allegations during her deposition in the case in 2016, calling Giuffre an "absolute liar". Maxwell was arrested earlier this month and is in jail in NY awaiting trial on child-sex-trafficking charges.

Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Dershowitz defended himself vehemently on Twitter, saying Giuffre's accusations against him were false.

However, two depositions remain under seal after Maxwell filed an emergency motion with the federal appeals court in Manhattan earlier on Thursday to keep them from becoming public. Otherwise, prosecutors said, the women may be harassed or intimidated and become reluctant to cooperate with the government.

The unsealed documents naming Dershowitz are from the 2015 civil defamation lawsuit by Giuffre against Epstein's associate and ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, who is facing multiple sex crime charges for her alleged involvement in the abuse ring.

"Ghislaine Maxwell brought me into the sex trafficking industry".

Giuffre testified that Maxwell instructed her to have sex with former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson, ex-senator George Mitchell and French model scout Jean-Luc Brunel, among others. She said the couple subsequently pressured her into having sex with numerous rich or notable men, including Britain's Prince Andrew, US politicians, wealthy entrepreneurs, a famous scientist and a fashion designer.

Ms Maxwell, and all of the accused men, have denied those allegations for years.

Among the newly released papers were emails Maxwell and Epstein exchanged in January 2015, when Ms Giuffre's allegations were getting a new round of media attention.

Prince Andrew lobbied the USA government to help get a sweetheart plead-deal for pedophile friend Jeffrey Epstein that saw him jailed for just 13 months in 2009, newly unsealed court documents claim. He suggested she go outside and hold her head high, "not as an (escaping) convict".

She is now awaiting trial in a Brooklyn federal detention facility, facing the possibility of up to 35 years in prison.

Responding to an email from Maxwell, Epstein, who was then a convicted sex offender, wrote: "You have done nothing wrong and I (would) urge you to start acting like it". Giuffre said the former president stayed in one of the villas on the island at the time that she and two girls from NY were also on the Island.

Epstein was found dead of an apparent suicide in his NY jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial.

Many of Giuffre's claims in the documents have been made before, including that she had sex with Andrew when she was 17 after being procured by Epstein.

They said Ms Maxwell had been promised confidentiality before being forced to answer many "personal, sensitive, and allegedly incriminatory questions", only to be sandbagged when prosecutors quoted from the deposition in her indictment.

The girls were flown to the island from all over the world as Giuffre claims many of them spoke in a European language that she gathered was either Russian or Czechoslovakian.
