Monroe County records one new COVID-19 death

COVID-19 Drive Through Testing Site Changing Hours of Operation

Benton and Sherburne Counties Report No New COVID-19 Cases Monday

New Hanover County averaged 47 new positive cases daily last week, a fivefold increase from the first week of the month. At least 338 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and there have been 3,310 negative COVID-19 tests.

In most of the newest cases, people who tested positive for the virus contracted it through community spread, said Chezney Schulte, Cole County communicable disease health coordinator.

Public health officials from Bureau, Putnam and Marshall County Health Department were notified of the positive tests, according to state and local public health protocols.

Though testing has ramped up, experts do not attribute the increase in identified positive cases to testing alone.

"We have established strong relationships and processes with our main suppliers for testing supplies that are working well".

The Health Department says that due to younger people tending to have less severe cases, none of the new patients are now hospitalized.

The Douglas County Health Department reported 65 new cases of COVID-19 and three additional deaths.

The approximate number of current cases can be calculated by subtracting the total recoveries from the positives. There have been 20 coronavirus-related deaths in Burke County.
