Solskjaer wants Man Utd to take Champions League bid game-by-game

'They create something out of nothing' – Man Utd pair Bruno & Pogba 'a joy' for strikers to play with, says Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects Angel Gomes to leave Manchester United

Man United are now sixth on the league table but have played one game less than Wolves so if they can manage to beat the Seagulls on Tuesday then Solskjaer's men will move back to the fifth spot - within two points of Chelsea.

The Norwegian boss told United's official website: "I think his performances on the pitch say it all".

Gomes was part of England's Under-17 World Cup triumph in 2017 and 11 days ago Solskjaer was still hopeful that a deal was "not too far away".

"The short answer [if they can go unbeaten] is yes, but the long answer is that there's more to it than that".

He added: "That's the normal routine for a Man United player".

"Before the shutdown, I would have said definitely he would leave the club but I think the situation has changed". That's why they are both here at the club and I'm sure they are looking forward to it.

Rashford looks set to start when United return to Premier League action at Brighton on Tuesday, having required extra-time to overcome Norwich 2-1 in Saturday evening's FA Cup quarter-final.

Man Utd, who are on a 14-match unbeaten run, are now placed sixth in the Premier League table.

And just in terms of Brighton, United have lost there in the last two years. "You've got Leicester, Chelsea, us, you've got Wolverhampton doing really well".

"It's exciting for fans, we've been waiting for football that matters, we want fans in the stadiums but at least now we can sit back and watch some exciting games".

"Of course there's a reason, because they're a good footballing side, they play football and they make it hard for you".

"And to get there, we need to focus on one game at a time, because there are so many teams just above us and just below us that want that place".
