Created by Tencent subsidiary TiMi Studio, which appeared on these internet pages previous 7 days many thanks to its involvement with the forthcoming Pokemon Unite, Steel Slug Code: J will be a aspect-scrolling arcade shooter with slick 2.5D visuals and innumerable bereavements.
Meanwhile, a release date, finalised title, and pricing for Metal Slug Code: J have yet to be announced. Since SNK, Tencent, and TiMi Studio haven't actually announced anything past launching the above trailer, we now have no idea in which regions SNK plans to publish the game.
Earlier this month rumours that SNK is working on new games for the Metal Slug series appeared.
"We're happy to work closely with such a strong developer as TiMi Studios on this latest Metal Slug title".
In terms of controls, you can see the typical directional pad on the left and a series of buttons on the right side of the screen. The company promises that the game will offer a faithful rendition of the classic arcade shooter packaged in a mobile format for players to enjoy.
As I say, though, Code: J isn't something to be sniffed at, especially given that TiMi Studios has a solid track record when it comes to bringing beloved IPs to mobile.
Being a big fan of the Metal Slug series, I'm quite excited for this game to release on mobile. Of course, if you'd prefer to play through the classics while you bide your time waiting for more info about Metal Slug Code: J, just remember that Metal Slug, Metal Slug X, and Metal Slug 3 are available on the Play store.
