Arthur explains his departure to the Barcelona squad

Barcelona Manager Quique Setien Says Club Hasnt Informed Him About Arthur Melos Departure

Spanish and Italian media have reported that Arthur has agreed personal terms with Juventus

Barcelona midfielder Arthur Melo will arrive in Turin later Saturday for a medical before moving to Serie A champions Juventus in exchange for Miralem Pjanic, according to reports in Italy.

Barcelona have agreed to sell Arthur to Juventus for €72 million (£66m/$81m) plus up to €10m in bonuses, the Catalan club have confirmed on their official website.

However, both Pjanic and Arthur will remain at their current clubs for the remainder of the extended 2019-2020 season.

During Monday's training session, Sergi Roberto trained for a second consecutive day as he continues in his recovery from a cracked rib and he has been included in the squad to face Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. I have no doubts about him.

"He is a player until the last game of the season".

"I don't now if he will leave, some people say it's better to keep him because of his young age, others the opposite", added Setien.

Arthur joined Barcelona from Grêmio in the summer of 2018 and has impressed in spells but the Spanish side's willingness to let him go indicates that the hierarchy do not see him as a long-term solution in midfield.
