'Batwoman' Will Introduce Entirely New Character Following Ruby Rose's Exit as Kate Kane

As if the abrupt departure of Ruby Rose from Batwoman, the series she starred in, wasn't shocking enough...word broke late last evening that the producers of the CW series are not looking to recast the role, but retire it, replacing Kate Kane with an entirely different character. Whether the series can pull off a smooth transition from Rose's Kate Kane to a brand new Batwoman is another story, but this seems like the best route for the series without raising any eyebrows. Instead, it's been said that the CW has chosen an entirely new character who will assume the Batwoman moniker. Ryan is also the most unsafe type of fighter who is highly skilled and even wildly disciplined.

In a joint statement from Warner Bros., The CW, and Berlanti Productions released at the time of Ruby Rose's exit, the parties involved expressed their commitment to casting another actor from the LGBTQ+ community.

This role is recognized as "Ryan Wilder", which is just a placeholder name to hide the true character, by giving the name to someone else who does not come from the clown at all.

It could be the case that the character is another one in DC Comics canon.

Casting calls often use fake names to limit information leaks so Ryan Wilder may not actually be the name of the character. It was later taken down.
