The Palestinian Authority announced the suspension of all ties with the U.S. and Israel this February after rejecting Donald Trump's peace plan, that recognised Israeli settlements in the West Bank and hence undermined the idea of a contiguous Palestinian state.

"Certainly in my lifetime, I never saw anything like it and I'm at the age of the State of Israel more or less, so it's an extraordinary thing".

"In light of the president's instructions about ceasing security coordination, the Israeli side was notified" of the partial withdrawal.
