Both the player and the agent have put new ICU rooms in the Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon and the San Antonio Hospital in Porto for those infected with coronavirus.

Ronaldo, whose Juventus teammates Paulo Dybala, Blaise Matuidi and Daniele Rugani have tested positive for coronavirus, has been in quarantine in his native Madeira.

The chairman of the board of directors of the Santa Maria hospital confirmed the donation, with the hospital of Santo Antonio later announcing the support from Ronaldo and Mendes.

The centre told ESPN that Ronaldo, jointly with his agent Jorge Mendes, will provide two intensive care wings to the medical facility with a capacity of 10 beds each as well as equipment such as ventilators, heart monitors, pumps and infusion syringes.

The two new wings at CHULN will be named after Ronaldo and Mendes.

"The units will be equipped with the charitable contribution of Mendes and Ronaldo".

Former Manchester United manager Luis Nani has jokingly said he taught Cristiano Ronaldo a lot during their time with the youth team.

"This unit will allow the opening of 15 intensive care beds, fully equipped with fans, monitors and other equipment", Barbosa said.

Ronaldo is now in self isolation in his birthplace of Madeira after three of his Juventus teammates, Paulo Dybala, Blaise Matuidi and Daniele Rugani, tested positive for the coronavirus. The number of confirmed cases has now reached 2,060 with 23 deaths.
