Coronavirus could become seasonal, vaccine is critical

Be Prepared, Coronavirus May Become Seasonal Infection: US Scientist

Coronavirus could become seasonal: US scientist

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told basketball star Stephen Curry in an interview on Instagram that he expects to see another cycle of the coronavirus, because he can not "imagine it's just going to disappear".

Taking the example of China and using arbitrary numbers, Fauci said that when the number of new cases begins to flatten out, it is not time to "declare victory" but it is crucial because you know that you are on the right path towards blunting the peak infection rate.

Fauci said the US government will soon set guidelines to help Americans who recover from a coronavirus infection determine when it is safe to return to regular life.

"We talk to him about that, we say we need to be flexible, he realizes that, and he accepts that", Fauci continued.

Tracking has revealed that cases are appearing in the southern hemisphere as they go into their winter season.

There are now two vaccines that have entered human trials - one in the U.S. and one in China - and they could be a year to a year-and-a-half away from deployment.

Meanwhile, the drugs used in most treatments for coronavirus - from anti-HIV drugs to antimalarial chloroquine - are ones that increase the immunity of a person, because that is what the virus targets.

"They (China) wanted to warn us that when we get successful, make sure you very carefully examine how you are going to release the constraints on input", said Dr Fauci.

Not just Fauci, but many experts have noted the virus does more harm in a colder weather as compared to in hot and humid conditions.

As of now, the contagious disease has more than 2,500 confirmed cases and eight deaths in Australia.

These were the details of the news Covid-19 could become seasonal, says top United States scientist for this day. We hope that we have succeeded by giving you the full details and information.
