The league revealed during the Wild-Blues game Sunday at Xcel Energy Center the two teams will face each other on January 1, 2021, at Target Field in Minneapolis.
Earlier this month, the National Hockey League revealed that Carolina would be hosting their first-ever outdoor game next season (against an opponent that's yet to be determined) but it wouldn't be in the Winter Classic. That changed on Sunday. Minnesota previously participated in the 2016 NHL Stadium Series at TCF Bank Stadium with a 6-1 victory over Chicago. The Blues ended up in town on Sunday while the Wilds go on to lookup for a position in the playoffs.
