As part of our commitment to consumer safety, Contigo, in association with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), voluntarily removes the Contigo Kids Clean Water Bottle, "said the company".
Contigo is doubling down on its August 2019 recall of almost 6 million Kids Cleanable water bottles due to a potential choking hazard.
The base and cover of the clear silicone spout will always be black.
"Contigo identified that the water bottle's clear silicone spout in some cases may detach from the lid posing a potential choking hazard". This is the second time recently that this specific line of products, the Kids Cleanable Water Bottles, has been recalled for this issue. Only black colored spout base and spout cover models are included in the recall.
They come in three sizes, and four bottle colours and were sold individually and in three packs.
Anyone whose child uses the product have been advised to stop it immediately and take the bottles away children.
About 5.7 million (In addition, about 157,000 were sold in Canada and about 28,000 sold in Mexico) These water bottles were previously recalled in August 2019.
"Contigo has received a total of 427 reports of the spout detaching including 27 spouts found in children's mouths", the incident report section reports - up from 149 and 18, respectively, this past August.
The bottles were distributed at retailers including Walmart, Target, and Costco as well as other nationwide retailers from April 2018 through February 7, 2020.
Those who own these recalled bottles can return them and get a free replacement.
