Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have changed their logo ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season. The Bangalore based franchise announced a three-year partnership with Muthoot Fincorp Ltd, popularly known as Muthoot Blue. After having taken down their profile pictures and photos from their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, fans as well as former and current cricketers were anxious as to what was going on with the franchise social media handles. Kohli also claimed that he has no idea what was going on inside which led them to do this.
But, it seems like RCB are bracing for a new decade with a new logo.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore's redesigned logo now features a lion in its full splendour and the team officials said it reflected the attitude and playing philosophy of the team.
Earlier, there were speculations that the RCB's move came as they are likely to replace the word "Bangalore" with "Bengaluru" ahead of the upcoming 13th edition of the IPL, which is slated to take place from March 29.
Amidst all of the reactions towards the new logo, Bumrah spearheaded the trolls, as India's best bowler gave a amusing statement while taking a dig on his bowling action.
"Presenting to you, the RCB Jersey design for Vivo IPL 2020".
Speaking on the new RCB's new logo, skipper Virat Kohli said: "LOGO ka kaam hai kehna". It embodies the Bold pride and challenger spirit that our players bring to the field.
Even though the Royal Challengers entered three IPL finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016, the team still has not bagged the trophy and in the IPL 2020 they will be eager to lift that elusive crown.
"We believe a change in identity for the club was necessary to effectively live and breathe this vision and celebrate the passion for cricket and playing bold".
