Ja Morant Reacts To News Of Lillard’s All Star Replacement

The Phoenix Suns guard was named an All-Star replacement after Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard announced he would not play in the game because of a muscle strain.

Lillard suffered a groin injury late in the Blazers' loss to the Grizzlies in Memphis Wednesday night that will cause him to miss the annual exhibition game Sunday as well as Saturday's Three-Point Contest.

The replacement decisions rest exclusively with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who handpicks a player he deems deserving of that spot.

Booker is putting up similar numbers compared to last season, but doing so with sparkling efficiency.

Booker is averaging 26.4 points (10th in NBA) and 6.3 assists (19th) while shooting career bests of 49.6% from the field (30th) and 92.0% from the free throw line (2nd) in this his fifth season.

Yet it is his efficiency that has catapulted this team to a better record.

Devin Booker had planned to "go off the grid" to an undisclosed location, using the All-Star break to relax with family and friends and not think about basketball.
