MS Dhoni Dropped From BCCI's List Of Centrally Contracted Players

The players slotted in Grade A+ category are bound to receive INR 7 Cr while the ones grouped in Grade A category will be receiving INR 5 Cr.

Senior Indian cricketer MS Dhoni's name did not figure in the annual player contracts announced by the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) on January 16.

KL Rahul has been promoted to Grade A while the likes of Navdeep Saini, Mayank Agarwal (Grade B), Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar and Deepak Chahar have been rewarded with annual contracts as well. "If Dhoni plays well in IPL then he does put himself in contention".

While Dhoni has not revealed anything about his future, he is very much expected to captain Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming edition of the IPL.

In what has been a glittering career Dhoni has so far played 90 Tests, 350 ODIs and 98 T20 Internationals for India, accumulating over 17,000 runs and effecting a staggering 829 dismissals behind the stumps. The trio of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah has been fitted into the Grade A+ category, who will receive INR 7 Cr. Top-order batsman KL Rahul made the jump from grade B to A, an incentive of INR 2 crore.

For the aforementioned period, players in these categories would be paid Rs crore, Rs 5 crore, Rs 3 crore and Rs 1 crore, respectively. Others to lose contracts were Ambati Rayudu, Dinesh Karthik and Khaleel Ahmed.
