Fortunately, the Stargirl trailer is here to get the fans excited.
Grace VanderWaal, victor of America's Got Talent season 11, makes her acting debut in the first Stargirl trailer from Disney+ - and she brings her ukulele along for the ride. The book was originally published in 2000 and has since arrived on stage as a critically acclaimed work.
In the film, Leo Borlock (Verchere) is your average student at Mica High School.
VanderWaal will portray Susan "Stargirl" Caraway, a mysterious, quirky new girl at school who draws the attention of Leo, a boy who has spent most of his life flying under the radar. Her eccentricities and her contagious personality charm Leo and the student body, and she quickly goes from ignorance and ridicule to acceptance and praise, then again, sending Leo in an emotional roller coaster ride. And, yes, we did jump over to Netflix for The Last Jedi because it hadn't come to Disney+ yet.
This is the other, which is not a television series, but an original Disney + film, based on the novels of Jerry Spinelli.
The film stars singer-songwriter Grace VanderWaal as Stargirl Caraway, Graham Verchere (Fargo, The Good Doctor) as Leo Borlock, and Emmy nominee Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian) as Archie Brubaker. "Stargirl" is produced by Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, p.g.a., Lee Stollman, p.g.a., and Kristin Hahn, p.g.a., with Jordan Horowitz, Jim Powers, Jerry Spinelli, Eddie Gamarra, Catherine Hardwicke and Jonathan Levin as executive producers.
