Arsenal are in advanced talks over the signing of Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa.
Arsenal spent £25million on Scotland global Kieran Tierney in the summer but injuries have restricted the former Celtic star to just 11 appearances this season.
Kieran Tierney dislocated his right shoulder against West Ham on December 9 and is not expected to return to full training until March.
Arteta admitted earlier this week that the injury situation in defence has changed his transfer plans this month and it looks like Arsenal have now chose to accelerate their interest in Kurzawa.
Arsenal want to land the defender and, according to French radio station RMC, have now kicked off talks with the player.
Given Arsenal's injury situation at left-back they consider this deal a no-brainer.
Kurzawa's contract with the reigning French champions is due to expire at the end of this season but Arsenal could make a £6 million (approximately €7 million) to bring him to the club between now and the end of this transfer window.
The report details that Arsenal officials watched the Frenchman play 90 minutes in PSG's 4-1 victory at Monaco on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent seasons, but was initially recommended to the North London club by former boss Unai Emery, who managed Kurzawa when he was in charge at PSG.
