Ice Chips: Crosby to return Tuesday vs. Wild

Penguins get Sidney Crosby back after 2-month layoff after surgery

The Penguins tweeted a video of Crosby accompanied by the caption, "He's Back", shortly after the Pittsburgh captain told reporters he would play against Minnesota. Crosby has been out of action for two months after undergoing core muscle surgery November 14.

Despite being without Crosby for almost half the season, the Penguins have been one of the NHL's top teams.

Crosby was on the top line at Tuesday's morning skate.

The Penguins were shockingly good while Crosby was sidelined, ranking first in the National Hockey League in Points% (.714), going 18-6-4 while averaging the sixth-most goals for (3.36) and ninth least goals against (2.79).

Crosby had five goals and 17 points in 17 games before hitting the shelf. He was limited by a 10.9 SH% and 9.5 on-ice SH%, both are among his career-lows.
