As should always be the case, take it with a grain of salt.
Posting on Reddit, our mysterious leaking friend "confirms" that Assassin's Creed Ragnarok does lean into the rumoured Viking theme. This game is expected to be released this year. It's through this merry band of Vikings that the game will apparently incorporate drop-in online co-op with up to four players. The King of Wessex, Alfred the Great; Rollo, the first ruler of Normandy; and Charles the Fat, the emperor of the Carolingian Empire, are mentioned in the leak. Absolutely monstrous, according to the rumour.
Other notable points made by the rumour state that the game's map is essentially all of Northern Europe (including cities such as York, Paris, and London), that dynamic, large scale wars will take place in real time across the open world, that stealth has been radically overhauled, and that the game will be a cross-gen release for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, and PS5.
There's no denying that this all sounds terribly exciting, and certainly tallies with much of what we'd previously heard. Alleged listings and rumors are claiming that the new game could be called Assassin's Creed: Ragnarok, and it could be coming in 2020. We knew about it. That aside, Neko partners industry analyst and frequent insider Daniel Ahmad suggested that the game wouldn't be called Ragnarok at all, echoing something I've said before.
"For what it's worth". This assassin's creed 2020 is actually leaked on the Amazon Germany site, and on the official website, they told public That this is the new upcoming game that is going to release on the PlayStation 4 with gold, Valhalla edition and as well as standard. "It's not even called Ragnarok". Like improved combat or whatever. "But in general they're not that accurate".
As it is, it's likely that we won't have to wait too long for Ubisoft to show us the goods on the next Assassin's Creed title.
With Assassin's Creed having been on the backburner for just a bit since Odyssey and Watch Dogs: Legion still on the horizon, Ubisoft probably hasn't felt pressured to rush into another Assassin's Creed game, but it hasn't stopped rumors from going around.
