The previous couple of seconds of the trailer confirmed a Nord standing over a snowy panorama staring over the space whereas considered one of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's themes performed.

At The Game Awards, Bethesda revealed a new trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online featuring the final cinematic focusing on Elsweyr, the game's most recent expansion. That's according to a little tease included in a wrap-up trailer for the game's Season of the Dragon shown at The Game Awards last night. It's no secret that Skyrim holds a special place in many gamers' hearts, and it will likely wind up at the top of many Game of the Decade lists. We'll find out in January what exactly the "dark heart" of Skyrim means.

The end of the trailer though shows an armored Nord gazing out into the very familiar snowy mountains of Skyrim with a message to "Explore The Heart of Skyrim" and an announcement of a Global Reveal Event to take place on January 16. In 2020, Skyrim will headline again when The Elder Scrolls Online takes players into the frozen home of the Nords. Sure, the Throat of the World will be around, but Whiterun and Riften might not look quite the same - if they even exist at all.

We know it'll be on a scale comparable to the Season of the Dragon, as ZeniMax described it as "The Elder Scrolls Online's next year-long adventure and Chapter". There isn't much information now available, but we do know that Bethesda is hosting an event for the announcement.
