New Ghost of Tsushima footage is all about samurai slaughter

Ghost of Tsushima coming in summer 2020

PlayStation 4 exclusive Ghost of Tsushima launches next summer

Although The Game Awards 2019 had many new and important revelations, including the Xbox Series X console and the PS5 Godfall launch title, few of them were as expected, with no signs of Crash Bandicoot or a new Batman game.

I joined Sucker Punch as the new communications manager back in March (nice to meet you all!) and I've spent my entire time at the studio so far dying for the opportunity to show off more of the game.

Sony dropped the tease for Ghost of Tsushima during its State of Play earlier this week.

Did the trailer deliver?

It depicts Jin Sakai, the last samurai on Tsushima Island when he faces the Mongol invasion in 1274.

Sony has released a new game trailer nearly five minutes long for the PS4 game of Samurai Ghost Of Tsushima and it looks unbelievable. It's the first full trailer for the game we've seen in a while, so tuck right in and enjoy. There is also another scene where he jumps off from his horse to deliver a killing blow. We see the Ghost easily slaying down opposing Mongols with fluid motion.

Additionally, the game finally has a release window.

Ghost of Tsushima will bring feudal Japanese action to the PlayStation 4 next summer.

There had been very almost zero news on the Ghost of Tsushima front since Sony offered a top to bottom look at E3 2018, so we'd been long past due for additional on Sucker Punch's open-world adventure game. We don't have an exact date yet, but it aligns perfectly with Sony's strategy for the year.
