Democratic Presidential Field Shrinks with Departure of Harris, Bullock

Kamala Harris out, 15 Dems still in race: Darcy cartoon

Donald Trump, Kamala Harris spar on Twitter over her withdrawal from Presidential poll

The Democrat and California senator is looking to differentiate herself from current front runner former Vice President Joe Biden who recently took a campaign swing through New Hampshire. Harris launched her campaign in front of 20,000 people in January. "I have mixed emotions about it because she is a solid person and loaded with talent".

Caribbean American Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris on Tuesday said she was terminating her bid for the Democratic Party's nominee in next year's US Presidential Election.

And though Harris is no longer running for president, she'll still be fulfilling her duties as a Senator, and Warren thinks we'll be seeing a lot more of Harris in the future. Boy, she was a tough advocate for families, and watch what she did during the [Brett] Kavanaugh hearings, holding our attorneys general accountable, going after [Bill] Barr, going after [Jeff] Sessions.

Shortly after Harris announced she was dropping out of the race, Biden told reporters: "She is a first-rate intellect, first-rate candidate, and a real competitor".

But any rift appears to have been closed. Harris was close friends with Biden's son Beau, before he died of brain cancer in 2015.

"Oh, yeah. I mean, look, Kamala Harris would be on any Democrats' short list", Warren gushed.

Earlier this year, Harris, 55, was viewed as a prime contender in the crowded Democratic presidential field. But organizational and financial woes, along with her struggles to make a compelling case for her candidacy, derailed her campaign. A former prosecutor, state attorney general and only the second black woman elected to the Senate, she is still considered a rising star within the party.
