Camila Morrone, who has a 23-year age gap with her boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio, shared in an interview that she understands the curiosity surrounding their relationship as she too would be fascinated by it.
Morrone, 22, spoke with the Los Angeles Times about her romance with DiCaprio, 45, and how the age difference is of no importance to her. "I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date".
"I think more and more now that people are seeing the film, I'm slowly getting an identity outside of that", she said.
"I probably would be curious about it too", she added, admitting that she understands why people are interested in her relationship. "People will always have bad things to say because there's a sense of entitlement and safety behind the screen, but trust me, you don't need to be that angry". Despite the buzz about her personal life stealing the spotlight, she says that she looks forward to the time when she gains recognition for her work and acting talent.
Morrone and the "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" actor were first romantically linked in January 2018 and it was recently claimed their relationship is serious. Ever since then, DiCaprio and Morrone have been spotted all over the world.
She started modeling as a teenager and moved to New York City to further her career, but she said she didn't love it because she was pressured to lose weight and forced to, 'network with these people and sell a part of my soul to them'. It's definitely not a casual relationship.
A source close to the Oscar-winning star - who has dated various stars over the years, including Gisele Bundchen and Bar Refaeli - said: "He's more mature and thinking longer term".
Mickey and the Bear is now in theaters.
