But the new PC release might have you wondering how to play with friends online in Halo Reach.
The game is available on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC for the price of just $9.99/£6.99, with the entire collection costing $39.99/£29.99.
Microsoft Store & Steam - The Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundle is available today for $39.99 United States dollars, which includes Halo: Reach and will automatically update with the remaining titles as they launch next year.
Master Chief is back on PCs.
Halo: Reach plays at 60FPS (or greater!) with 4K UHD support and players can customise their Halo experience to their liking thanks to options such as variable framerate, mouse and keyboard controls rebinding, texture and shadow quality, and much more. The Halo: MCC anthology is now priced at $39.99 on both Steam and the Microsoft Store, and developers 343 Industries is expected to release PC ports of Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4 over the course of 2020.
As many fans will already know, Halo Reach can be downloaded as part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription. "This will allow you to play around with campaign and customs but not allow you to play any match made games." said employee 343_farn.
The solid start would appear to validate Microsoft's strategy, announced earlier this year, to release more of its games on Steam, rather than keeping them exclusive to the Microsoft Store.
Reach is also available via Xbox Game Pass on PC, and while we don't have player counts for that platform, Microsoft's heavy promotion of the service likely means there are quite a few players there.
KitGuru Says: It has been years since I last played the Reach campaign, so I'm looking forward to finally getting this on PC later this evening.
