Shabaash Mithu will be directed by Rahul Dholakia, who has helmed films like Raees and Parzania.

Taapsee Pannu who is quite busy with her numerous projects has announced one more today.

Adding how confused she is to choose a gift for her, Taapsee promised that "I shall give it all I have to make sure you will be proud of what you see of yourself on screen with #ShabaashMithu".

Marking her first biopic, Taapsee will be seen playing Mithali and she announced the same on the cricketer's birthday. While Mithali was seen in blue team India jacket, Taapsee Pannu opted for a multi-colour jacket and trousers with a white tee.

In the pictures we can see Taapsee and Mithali celebrating the later's birthday. With the picture shared, Taapsee Pannu revealed some exciting details about her upcoming biographical sports entertainer based on the life of Mithali Raj.

Viacom18 COO Ajit Andhare also made the announcement on Twitter. To this, Ajit Andhare, Chief Operating Officer, Viacom18 Studios, added: "The story idea struck me about a year ago while watching the movie "Hidden Figures". So, it's a completely home-grown film for us. Taapsee also owns a badminton team and she is rumoured to be dating Olympic silver medalist badminton player Mathias Bose. Even though I have already started feeling the pressure of stepping in her shoes, I don't think I want to trade this place with anyone else right now. She has always been fearless and strong to back truth and her idols, and that is the connect I feel with her. The actor also jokingly remarked that she is getting ready the learn the cover drive.

Mithali Raj said, "I have always stood for and voiced my opinion for equal opportunity for women not just in cricket but across all fields".

She had also posted stories on Instagram hinting at taking up the role.
