British media reported Silva's position would be discussed by the club's hierarchy on Monday, two days before the Merseyside derby at Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Leicester are ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea FC in the Premier League title race, while the Foxes narrowed Liverpool FC's lead to eight points after their 2-1 win over Everton on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers has all but ruled himself out of the running to become Arsenal's manager next by saying that he is very happy at Leicester and has no need to "look elsewhere".

It has been claimed that Rodgers is keen to manage one of the so-called big six again at some point in the future, but he will not leave Leicester now. "It's all hypothetical - all these types of situations", he confessed. The responsibility is to move the club forward and I am very happy trying to do that.

"I made a choice nine months ago to come here for a goal".

"For me, I repeat, I am happy here". Alisson pulled off a good couple of saves so I think we were in the game all the way whereas the recent Norwich game we weren't in the game so much.

Not even under Claudio Ranieri in their remarkable 2015-16 title run did Leicester win six league games in a row. Rodgers's decision to unleash striker Kelechi Iheanacho from the bench proved a masterstroke though.

The Nigeria global, who has struggled in his spell with Leicester thus far, made an instant impression, crossing for Jamie Vardy to tap home the equaliser.

And Carragher, who worked under Rodgers at Liverpool, thinks his former boss should stay put.

"I thought we deserved it".

Pickford says he and his Everton team-mates are aware of the task they face, saying: "We know it's a great game to be playing in and we haven't had the luck of the green yet but we go there positive and we know the fans will be behind us".

"To come from behind as well demonstrates the quality and mindset of this team to keep going. We found a way with quality and determination".
