Some fans slammed tidying guru Marie Kondo over the launch of her new e-commerce business. Offbeat Marie Kondo fans baffled by her new shop

Her best-selling book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up is an global phenomenon, and just about everyone with a Netflix subscription tuned in to watch her declutter messy spaces during her series, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo.

People on social media just can't get over the irony of it all.

Marie Kondo's latest venture has left some of her fans baffled and a bit unimpressed.

Think about that for a minute. In 2019, she snagged a Netflix series, Tidying Up With Marie Kondo. As though all of her guidance has been leading to this very moment, she says, "The goal of tidying is to make room for meaningful objects, people and experiences".

Kondo's new store, KonMari, is dedicated to household goods, including books, aromatherapy, bath essentials, decor, and organizing goods. With just a few hours after the launch of the shop, many items were almost sold-out like Kondo's leather room shoes by Morihata for $206.

As of now, Kondo is selling unique items in seven departments for a more systematic life and covers all aspects.

"Sparks absolutely no joy", Twitter user @baseballminutia wrote. And I do mean junk- a $12 stick anyone? Goop has been accused of promoting pseudoscience with its products.

While it may seem odd that a decluttering expert is selling people more stuff, the idea is that these items will help people display their most prized belongings in a handsome way that sparks joy.

While another excitedly tweeted: "Marie Kondo has her own shop! And now she wants us to buy stuff - from her new e-commerce shop", a frustrated fan wrote on Twitter. And in case buying physical things from Marie Kondo isn't direct enough for you, her website also features a page where you can enlist the services of Kondo-deputized "consultants" who have received a certification in the KonMari method and can help you declutter your home in as Marie Kondo-y a way possible.

You can check out the store on Kondo's website right here. Once you've folded your socks and underwear according to the KonMari method, and sorted all of your belongings, holding each one and registering the delight it brings before tossing or keeping, you can surround yourself with Kondo-approved pieces.

While the website does not now ship outside the US, the brand does say they have plans to expand internationally - so you could be able to shop KonMarie sooner than you think!
