Dolphins Cut Mark Walton After Arrest for Allegedly Punching Pregnant Woman

A native of Jackson, Miss.

On Tuesday, the Miami Dolphins announced they've waived Walton, the second-year player who was in the middle of a four-game suspension. Walton was arrested and taken to Broward County Jail.

The woman told officers she is five weeks pregnant with the couple's child and had told Walton about the pregnancy on Sunday.

The alleged aggravated battery occurred at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday in Davie, Florida, after an argument.

Neither the Dolphins nor Walton's representatives, First Round Management, immediately returned calls seeking comment.

Walton is now serving a 4-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy stemming from 3 arrests that all went down earlier this year. They released him after his arrests, and he signed in May with the Dolphins.

According to a tweet from the team, the Dolphins said they were made aware of a police matter earlier Tuesday morning.

"We will have no further comment at this time", Grier said.

Running back Mark Walton has gone from suspended to unemployed. The trio, along with De'Lance Turner, will carry the load for the rest of the season.

Hopefully Walton is able to get whatever kind of support he needs to work out his issues - but that support will not come from the Miami Dolphins organization. He also had 15 receptions for 89 yards.

Walton has been in the league for two years.

The suspension stemmed from Walton being arrested three times last offseason in his hometown of Miami.
