Eilish released her new single, "everything i wanted" earlier today which marks her first official release since dropping WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
Although she didn't exactly come out of nowhere, Billie Eilish has been the breakout pop success story of 2019.
The new track was co-written by Eilish and her brother, Finneas, and recorded at both Eilish's home studio in Highland Park and while on the road this summer.
The song in question, "everything i wanted", puts a crystalline, watery spin on her signature sound.
"The song coming out is a bit about fame", Eilish said, before paraphrasing what turned out to be the song's opening lyrics: "Everything I want, I got it, but it might have been a nightmare". The track is built on a a misty, echoing loop that keeps her downcast voice front and center in the mix.
In the meantime, Billie is now busy preparing for her upcoming world arena tour next year. It's still unclear whether the two new songs will be standalone singles or included on her upcoming project. After that, she will travel to countries in Latin America and Europe for the remainder of the tour.
