Winter weather travel advisory issued for Waterloo Region

Cold front to bring arctic air, possible flakes Tuesday

Accumulating snow expected for Veteran's Day

Our first major winter storm of the season begins tonight and lasts thru the early afternoon hours of Tuesday. North and West of the Mohawk Valley will pile up about 6 to 9 inches of snow.

A WINTER STORM WATCH is effect for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties from Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning.

We'll add on to these totals Tuesday in the Primary & Secondary Snowbelt when the lake-effect snow bands set up.

System snow will be ongoing for especially northern areas in the morning, spreading southward.

Cold weather settles in on Tuesday, with highs in the upper 20s in both Akron and Cleveland. Highs will be around 30 in Cleveland and Akron.

"It makes me feel very sad, when I think about it possibly dropping in temperature, it reminds me of the polar vortex past year and I just hope we're not heading that ways again", resident Chasity Boyce said. These areas will see a mix of rain and snow Monday with the possibility of some freezing rain Monday night creating slick roads on top of heavy snowfall by Tuesday morning.

Sunday Night - Mostly cloudy skies. Frigid. High of 22.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers late in the day.
