Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Patch Adds New Maps, Nerfs Shotgun

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 725 nerf

Modern Warfare's New Maps Are A Lot Less Campy

The community has been very vocal about campy matches and questionable map design. That being said, while so desperately reaching towards the provocative and controversial, Modern Warfare's latest campaign never really stops toeing the line.

Later in the present day, Ground War will probably be added to Modern Warfare's queue of multiplayer modes.

What is a most welcome diversion from the paltry selection of decent maps is the return of Ground War.

Players will see all content they can earn, so you don't have to rely on RNG to get the gear. We even have a piece of information on all the returning characters, so you realize what to probably anticipate in future Call of Duty tales. This comes after the popular "Night mode" has already been added along with the "Kill Confirmed" multiplayer mode. Special Ops advances the overarching Modern Warfare lore with multiple ways to play co-op, including Operations, the largest and most involved experience with multi-phased objectives, and the more curated Classic Special Ops, to test your performance with weapons, munitions and other tools.

Since the season pass system has not been implemented with Modern Warfare, these maps and mode are entirely free.

In Headquarters, players were able to place a Tac Insert and respawn when their team owned the point. But Activision's president, Robert Kostich, described Modern Warfare's launch as "just scratching the surface of what it can do", so it's safe to say that Activision intends for Modern Warfare to be just as successful. "Shoot-House" is designed for 6v6, close-quarters gunfights, and caters to players who've been asking for more of a three-lane map design. Today's update addresses a lot of these major issues that really punished players for moving around. Now players can detonate an enemy claymore with bullets without being a sacrificial lamb, as the blast from shooting claymores is now non-lethal when at full health.

After the patch the 725 shotgun will have a bigger spread, both for hip fire and when aimed down sight, and most importantly reduced damage range.

With a complete weapon overhaul and the most choices in Call of Duty history, players will be able to outfit their multiplayer operators for every combat encounter, with unprecedented customization and modifiability in the new Gunsmith system.
