Herndon, VA - Volkswagen will debut the ID.

The ID. SPACE VIZZION is based on Volkswagen's Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB).

Full details are coming soon, as the ID Space Vizzion will be unveiled on November 19, with the reveal coinciding with the start of an exhibition at the Petersen Automotive Museum highlighting the design and construction of the vehicles of tomorrow.

VW had previously said that the ID Vizzion concept would be at the top of the ID range and would use the extended-size version of the battery pack, around 111 kwh, as also to be used for the upcoming ID Buzz van. The MEB fully exploits the technical possibilities of e-mobility and guarantees long ranges, dynamic driving performance and a whole new level of digital networking.

The company claims a theoretical range of up to 590km between charges on the WLTP cycle, for the concept vehicle, a feat that is partially aided by its particularly aerodynamic design, with openings in the front and roof sections reducing the Cd value. Thanks to the efficiency of the drive system and impressive aerodynamics, the ID.

The production version of the ID Space Vizzion will be available in late 2020 with different versions in North America, Europe, and China.

The interior will sport a "completely digitized cockpit", with parts made from sustainable raw materials, including an artificial leather called AppleSkin.

The ID. SPACE VIZZION is a concept for the future, but is not a dream.

But it's destined to be more than just a show auto, with VW confirming that a production version will hit the streets in China in late 2021, while different versions for Europe and North America will also be introduced in due course.
