The Browns have not yet formally added Hunt to their 53-man roster, but they did open up a spot by cutting safety Jermaine Whitehead on Monday. Now, he's getting a chance to amend for his missteps, and the Browns believe he can jump start an offense that hasn't performed well. "You know, so we got to continue to work hard and continue to find ways to win football games and it comes out, it comes down to really how we practice how to prepare for a game and then how we go and execute".
His return will give coach Freddie Kitchens another option for quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is eager to see what Hunt can bring. "We know we haven't played as well as we can, but to his [Micah Hyde] point it's a complete 180 from a year ago, night and day". It's why he's here.
Hunt hasn't played since November 19, when he was still with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs said he lied to them about an incident in which he shoved and kicked a woman during an argument.
The 24-year-old Cleveland native is scheduled to speak to the media Thursday for the first time since the season began.
