In the first quarter of the Lakers' preseason game against the Nets, Anthony Davis blocked a shot but sprained his thumb in the process.
The good news, however, is that according to a report from The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Lakers don't believe Davis suffered any ligament damage.
If the MRI comes back clean, there are a range of recovery times within Grade 1 sprains.
The Lakers certainly hope that Davis' injury is not serious and that the "fantasy team" is not short a crucial player before they leave China.
The Warriors and Lakers will play at Staples Center on Monday and Wednesday night, then both teams will wrap up the preseason against each other Friday at Chase Center. He finished the game with six points on 2-for-7 shooting to go along with three rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 12 minutes of action.
After four preseason matchups, the Warriors and Lakers won't meet in the regular season until November 13 at Staples Center.
