Laramie Brewery Wins Gold Medal At 2019 Great American Beer Fest

In largest Great American Beer Festival competition ever, two Minnesota breweries score gold

The staff at PIVO Brewery in Calmar are celebrating their brewery's showing at the Great American Beer Festival over the weekend.

Seven breweries operating in Pennsylvania took home seven medals. The Davis brewery's Märzen was named the best American-style amber lager of the bunch after winning a silver medal previous year.

The brewery won not one, but two medals at the national competition in Denver.

Silver medals went to Free Will Brewing Perkasie in the Belgian style Lambic category for Olly, and Cellar Works Brewing Sarver in the Brett Beer category for St.

A bronze medal was awarded to Helltown Brewing in Export in English-style Brown Ale category for Mischievous Brown.

Along with Altitude, Black Tooth and Snake River, several other Wyoming brewers competed at the festival, including Jackson's Melvin Brewing and Roadhouse Brewing Company, Saratoga's Snowy Mountain Brewery, and the Thermopolis-based One Eyed Buffalo Brewing Company.

"This year's GABF competition was the largest and most competitive to date", Great American Beer Festival competition manager Chris Swersey said in a Brewers Association statement.

OH craft brewers overall claimed a total of 15 awards at the nation's most prestigious brewing competition, with Cincinnati breweries claiming three gold medals and two silver medals overall.
