Speaking to Viasport ahead of Dortmund's 0-0 draw with Barcelona on Tuesday, Zorc confirmed that Solskjaer was interested in Sancho, but that's as far as Dortmund allowed it to go.

"I really want to do well with Dortmund".

The teenager, who scored two goals in two first-half minutes for England during their 5-3 victory over Kosovo, agreed a contract extension past year at Dortmund, until 2022.

Sancho arrived at Dortmund in 2017 in a £7m move from Manchester City.

Manchester United will reportedly renew their efforts to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho and Leicester City midfielder James Maddison when the transfer window opens next summer, according to Rob Dawson of ESPN FC.

He says: "A hot topic right now is Sancho and Manchester United, both his discussions with the club and mine with the consultants".

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears set on his determination to bring young British talent to Manchester United. The Red Devils also seem to not have a player who can pick the ball from midfield, drift past a few players and hit through balls to forwards, which is the role that Maddison plays at Leicester.
