Vikings place receiver Josh Doctson on injured reserve

The Vikings are back down to four receivers on the 53-man roster.

It was announced on Thursday morning that former Redskins wide receiver Josh Doctson will be placed on the IR with his current team, the Minnesota Vikings, after suffering a leg injury.

Doctson can technically return this season. Now it appears that his time with the Vikings is starting out just as poorly.

We'll update you accordingly on any moves, and Doctson's official injury. He was inactive against the Falcons and hasn't practiced with the Vikings. The native of San Bernardino, California, was waived during roster reductions and signed to the Vikings practice squad. But it's still possible that he may be able to provide a nice spark for Minnesota during their final stretch of the year. The Vikings promoted rookie cornerback Nate Meadors (UCLA) from their practice squad to take Doctson's place and signed rookie wide receiver Alexander Hollins from Eastern Illinois to the practice squad.
