Microsoft sending out invites for Surface event, and teases ‘one more thing’

The invite says the event will start at 10am ET.

In late August, we learned Microsoft was planning its next Surface event for October 2nd - although the fact that it was announcing hardware was more of an assumption than an official confirmation. We're expecting to see Surface Book 3, Surface Pro 7, and Surface Laptop 3 all make an appearance among the announcements. We've also heard rumblings of a Surface speaker. And that could be a big hint as to what's to expect at the event. Microsoft's first invite - sent a few weeks ago - had 10/2 in silver shapes, as well. While Panay is always at Surface events, Nadella is only there on occasion.

Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay has taken to Twitter to reveal that its 2019 Surface Event will be held on October 2.

It'd certainly be interesting if Microsoft's talked about its dual-screen Surface device next month.

According to ZDNet's report, the fall event of Microsoft will be about both devices as well as experiences. It could also talk about Windows Lite - an upcoming variant of Windows that's created to power new hardware.

Microsoft has given nothing away yet, but having two big names in attendance as well as offering up a live stream would seem to imply that the company has something to shout about.
