Shipp is perhaps best known for originating the role of The Flash on TV. On The CW's 2014 Flash TV series, he played Henry Allen - the father to Grant Gustin's Barry Allen - and the Earth-3 Flash, Jay Garrick.
No word yet on exactly who Shipp will be playing, but given the fact that the two-time Emmy-winning actor has already reprised his Barry Allen/The Flash of Earth-90 on the current Flash series it's a safe guess that he'll be donning the famous speedster costume once more. The limited series was created to re-set the DC universe into a more cohesive world - setting stories on one earth not multiple ones.
The crossover event will bookend the midseason finales and premieres of all of the DC shows on The CW. It will then conclude with a special two-part event on Tuesday, Jan. 14, starting with a special episode of Arrow at 8:00 p.m. and concluding on DC's Legends of Tomorrow at 9:00 p.m. In addition to LaMonica Garrett as both the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor, the crossover will feature Brandon Routh reprising his role as Superman from Superman Returns, Burt Ward from the classic Batman TV series, Black Lightning, and the returns of the Arrowverse's Superman and Lois Lane as played by Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch.
Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim tweeted his excitement for the event earlier today. Are you looking forward to Crisis On Infinite Earths?
