The Kansas City Chiefs won't be able to lean on Tyreek Hill for a little while.
Ian Rapoport now has word that Hill is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with the injury which means he will be kept on the active roster for sure. If he does return in six weeks, he would join the team as they face the Green Bay Packers on October 27.
The 23-year-old Mahomes briefly left Sunday's game midway through the second quarter after he appeared to roll his left ankle when swarmed by Jaguars defenders on third-and-7 from Jacksonville's 7-yard line.
Burkholder said after the game that Hill was under the care of an ortho-trauma team in Jacksonville and added the team would provide a detailed update on his condition in "a day or two". Sammy Watkins did a fine job as the top option in Hill's place, though, grabbing nine passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns. Mahomes, meanwhile, was 25-33 for 378 yards.
Kansas City went on to win the matchup 40-26 in Hill's absence. The Chiefs will visit the Oakland Raiders in Week 2.
