Jennifer Lopez Cries After Hearing Oscar Buzz For Her ‘Hustlers’ Role

Jennifer Lopez on Hustlers Oscar buzz and that showstopping pole dance

Jennifer Lopez on Oscar buzz: 'I've been working hard my whole life. It's nice.'

Jennifer Lopez appeared on "TODAY" radio with Hoda Kotb on September 10 and got emotional when discussing the possibility of receiving an Academy Award nomination for her incredible portrayal of a stripper in the new film "Hustlers".

The 50-year-old's new movie, Hustlers premiered at the Toronto Film Festival this weekend.

Jennifer Lopez is addressing the rumors!

"To wake up to that today was like, 'OK!'" she told the L.A. Times. "You work hard your whole life and you wonder if anybody notices in a sense, like on that level, to be in that conversation", she said. "It's like, oh! Somebody liked what I did! I love doing this and it doesn't matter, but it does matter - it does make you feel like all my hard work is being recognised, and that's nice". (The movie is based on a true story that appeared in NY magazine in 2015.) Palmer describes the movie as "fun in all ways", adding that, "It has heart and you get to see women who are doing their thing and taking back their power in the way they want". As for Lili Reinhart?

Jennifer plays Ramona a veteran stripper who mentors one of the other dancers and helps set up the scam.

Lopez also detailed the painstaking training that went into her showstopping entrance scene in the film, in which she delivers a mesmerizing pole dance to the tune of Fiona Apple's Criminal.

The Oscar buzz has already reached Lopez herself, who said that she's "flattered" by the recognition.

Hustlers hits U.S. theatres on September 13 and NZ cinemas on October 10.
