The actress and singer, 50, nearly shed a few tears while discussing her new film with Hoda Kotb while on SiriusXM radio on Tuesday.
As Kotb, 55, read a few of the reviews lauding Lopez's performance, the mother of two smiled as she tried to compose herself.
"To wake up to that today was like, 'OK!'" she said on Sunday afternoon.
Early Tuesday, while appearing on Hoda Kotb's SiriusXM show, Lopez stoked rumors by smiling and laughing when asked if she was going to be this season's Super Bowl halftime performer before simply repeating, "I don't know", to which Kotb replied, "That was not a no!"
The film recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, and from the looks of it, J.Lo's performance is just as iconic as all the paparazzi shots we've seen of her in-character on the set.
"I was literally sitting in my bed yesterday and they were sending me all the reviews".
Lopez plays Ramona, the veteran dancer who takes newbie stripper Destiny (Wu) under her wing in the STX crime drama written and directed by Scafaria with an ensemble that includes Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Cardi B and Lizzo. "I was like, 'Oh my God'".
She continued, "You work hard your whole life and you wonder if anybody notices in a sense, on that level, to be in that conversation. And for people to be saying that is nice".
Jennifer Lopez, 50, is not taking her achievements for granted and she proved that when she couldn't hold back tears at the thought of possibly receiving an Oscar nomination for her role in the new film Hustlers. It would also cap quite the year for her, after getting engaged and generating Oscar buzz for her role in Hustlers.
He confessed to the host that Jennifer had been the one leading the whole operation.
Hustlers hits theaters September 13.
